Morzine is situated in the heart of the “Porte du Soleil”, an area of outstanding natural beauty,
and only an hour’s drive from Geneva airport. Morzine is a traditional family resort set in stunning
surroundings of the French Alps, although popular with tourists it is unspoilt and has retained its
French Savoyard ambience and appearance.
With rising temperatures that come with spring and summer Morzine springs into summer life. The climate
is hot, cooling off in the evenings, making it easy to sleep at night. The architecture is distinctly Savoyarde,
with beautiful old farmhouses and chalets throughout the town. A traditional market is held weekly selling
local produce.
A short idyllic walk from our apartment (along the river) is the water park, with an Olympic sized outdoor
swimming pool, children’s pool and play area, lawns, volleyball, a bar and restaurant and a huge water slide.
Beside the water park is the Palais de Sport with 15 tennis courts and an indoor skating rink.
There are also several idyllic mountain lakes in the area for swimming, sunbathing and fishing.
